Buying a domain name by auction

1. Search for a name
There are several methods you can use to search for a domain name on this site.

A quick search facility is always available in the menu bar on the left of every page. To use this, simply enter all or any part of a domain name in the search box and click go. For example, if you are looking for a domain name related to banking, try entering 'bank'. This will then find any names containing banks, banking, bankers etc.

Also on the left of every page are quick links to list all domains within a particular category or with a particular suffix. These can be found under the 'categories' and 'domain suffixes' headers respectively.

To search with a more specific set of criteria, click on 'advanced search' below the search box on the left, then enter as much information as you can in the spaces provided, and click 'search'.

2. Place a bid
From your search results, choose the name you like the most and click on it. You will then be presented with some additional information, such as a description of the domain name and the username of the seller. You will also be given the opportunity to place a bid.

Log in if required, then simply enter the amount you wish to bid, and your password (to ensure a friend or colleague isn't bidding in your absence), and click 'bid'. This will take you to a final bid confirmation screen where you have the opportunity to double-check the details of your bid before it is submitted. If the details are correct, click on the 'confirm' button.

Please note that any bid you make is legally binding, and cannot be withdrawn.

3. Sit back and wait
With the Names123 automatic bid notification system, there is no need for you to make repeated visits to the site. If another user places a bid higher than yours, you will be informed within seconds by SMS to your mobile phone (provided you supplied the number of the phone when you signed up). At the same time, an email is sent to you with details of the bid and link to take you directly to the screen from which you can place a new bid.

4. If you win
If your bid is accepted, you will again receive instant notification by SMS and by email. The email will contain full contact details of the seller. You contact details will also be passed on the seller.

Both buyer and seller have an obligation to comply with the terms of their agreement, however, if you would like Namesco Limited to act as a third party during these transactions, we will be happy to do so. For more information, click here.
